Meet the Founder
Born and raised in Turkey, Selen Akgul Strickland has had the opportunity to study and travel across the globe.
After completing her master's degree in Global Luxury and Management in 2019, she decided to stay in the U.S. In April 2021, she took a big step forward in her career by rolling up her sleeves in order to become an entrepreneur and started Patara. She wanted to bring high-quality beauty care products that are found and produced in her home country Turkey, to the U.S.
Her goal is to deliver the best quality products to women so that they discover how beautiful they truly are.
Why "PATARA"?
Patara is the most stunningly beautiful and longest beach on the coast of the Turkish Riviera, located on the Mediterranean Sea.
Founded by the Lycians, this area was very important to the Greek and Roman Empires for centuries. After the Roman Empire ended, the Ottoman Empire controlled Patara which later became the Turkish Republic.
Today the beach is a protected nature reserve, as it is an important turtle nesting location.

We want women to love their own skin and feel comfortable in it.
At Patara, we care about the environment and only use high-quality, all-natural, vegan ingredients. All of our items are made in Turkey.
